What would you do if you regularly went to the (junior ranks) mess with someone who you knew to be bean stealing?

It's a pet hate of mine.....

Mrs Mono it's someone who eats in the Mess that doesn't pay

It depends on wether you like the person or not Fablon, if you do tell him to get a ticket, if you don't shop him to the Chef/Cooks

I'd take myself outside and try and talk myself out of being petty.
Bean thieving is a recognised sport played by the most dedicated and finest of Her Majesty's airmen!:pDT_Xtremez_30:

Not only was the oxygen thief bean stealing, he had a singlie pad in the block whilst under the pretence of living out! Needless to say the 'boys' had a word and he officially moved out the following week!

I've always thought that 'bean stealers' was a term used towards anyone not living in that is entitled to a free meal out of the mess for duty reasons such as night shift, on guard duty, detachment or on exercise.

Anyone that gets a free meal and is not entitled is a thief and nothing else.::/:

Push his head in the deep fat fryer, that should stop the urge to steal from his brethren !
Hope this helps

My personal best was at Stanbridge, on 12 hour shifts, we used to get 1 meal per shift in the JRM. The chefs were out side having a BBQ, Flash was there partaking of good food when mrs Flash and Flash junior walked past. Result, chefs called the family over for scoff.:pDT_Xtremez_30:

The term Bean Stealing is soon to be dead. New regs mean Nobody is entitled to free grub on courses or day duty..

Tell me about it, 20 years of paying for food that I've not been there to eat (four days off shift that I could only claim two days back on). Now on a job where I'm entitled to duty meals due to being on the road most of the time at other stations, and they get rid of the perk. Typical !!!
