Many years ago I was the first on the scene of a multiple fatal road collision on the road around St Mawgan airfield. It was a very horrific incident caused by the arm of a low loaded JCB coming detached and swinging out at the oncoming traffic. I happened to be out for a run prior to going to work.

Needless to say I was late for work and the S Fire O gave me an immediate dressing down without giving me a chance to explain. The rest of the watch could here everything and when the phrase 'swanning in here like a bloody pirate' was shouted at me, it was almost drowned out by the laughter from the rest room!

Anyway the pirate theme stuck for a few years, and recently there has been some talk on the goat about pirates, so I thought I would add an avatar along that theme.

It's just a boat with a chequered sail, two quarters of which contain a skull and crossed swords.

To be honest, the dancing bear came from many many moons ago when I first started producing music. I used to visit quite a few sites on the subject. Found that one and the piccy was robbed there and then! bout 4 years on, it's never been changed!!!!

I'm registered on quite a few forums these days, and all of them have the "breakdance bear"

Off Topic I remember hearing about this on the radio. Was it that the driver of the lorry carrying the JCB hadn't bolted the arm into it's transit position before loading it? I think I remember it had swung out at around head height into oncoming traffic (like you said) and taken the roofs off 3 or so cars. Sounded awful. Didn't the driver of the truck get 4 or 5 years in gaol?
