It's more that the Qualifying day is when they can do, I think - Silverstone and Norfolk in a day fit well together as both will be flown from Scampton.

theres not an awful lot of dedicated airshows there, is that down to the amount the mod charge for a display or has the airshow become outdated?

Airshow stake time, RAF and civilian manpower and an airbase...we're losing the latter 2 meaning we have less of the former. Having scanned what it takes to,put Waddo airshow on (not on this year due to runway repairs) you stand every chance of making a loss if you don't get it right...

There is a good proportion more displays being flown for actual Airshows - the list above shows a straight 50/50 split across dedicated airshows and other events but in fact by the time you consider multiple displays being done for various shows (Bournemouth, Eastbourne & RIAT for example) it increases the percentage in their favour quite a bit. I've no idea on how this compares with previous years though?

Seems a very domestic season this year. Obviously nothing to sell to Johnny Foreigner at the moment. Although it may be intentional as it's their 50th season and should be seen over here more.

Isn't there controversy on this as, the first display was in 1965? I remember there was the same arguments about the 40th season.

The first anniversary will have been at the end of the first season.
