They play 3 sets maximum, which over a grand slam tournament means the winner of the mens tournament could play up to 35 sets, whilst the women's winner will play up to 21 sets. In a fortnight, that's a hell of a lot of extra tennis played, so why shouldn't they get more prize money.

I posted a thread a few weeks ago about womens cricket piggy backing on the world T20. Next we'll have the womens FIFA World cup played in the same country as the mens at the same time.

Women have their place in sport, and some of them (Jess Ennis) are hugely talented, but the reality is that the blokes are the main draw, and as such, should get a bigger slice of the prize money.

  1. Combine the prize money for for the male & female competitions.
  2. Make all matches best of 3 sets.
  3. Men & women play in one competition.

Then it is fair !!
