It shouldn't be up to us to pressurise the MPs, we are a country "policed by consent" not by the will of Parliament. It is the regional Police and Crime Commissioners that should be taken to task.
To be fair, I had occasion to call 999 not long ago (spotted a couple of scrotes attempting to gain entry to my neighbour’s house) Coppers arrived on scene within minutes. Top response from TVPCall 999? That's a laugh. They would have just given him a crime number and not bothered turming up.
Unfortunately, some do not realise that whilst that patrol is lucky enough to be able to attend your 999 promptly, another could well be tied up on another 999 , booking a prisoner in, at A&E with a suicidal, dealing with a suicide or sudden death..or any number of other reasons….but then when a copper doesn’t immediately turn up to their 999, ‘the Police are bloody useless”… then whilst they are still waiting for a patrol to attend another 999 comes in and due to the nature of it, it takes priority. in an ideal world there would be a patrol sat waiting to deal with every 999 as it came in…but we don’t live in an ideal world. To be fair, I had occasion to call 999 not long ago (spotted a couple of scrotes attempting to gain entry to my neighbour’s house) Coppers arrived on scene within minutes. Nobody is blaming rank and file coppers, and we don’t need enough front line coppers to react to every crime or incident, what we do need is enough action taken, with suitable outcomes for enough incidents so that people don’t think they can behave with no fear of retribution.Unfortunately, some do not realise that whilst that patrol is lucky enough to be able to attend your 999 promptly, another could well be tied up on another 999 , booking a prisoner in, at A&E with a suicidal, dealing with a suicide or sudden death..or any number of other reasons….but then when a copper doesn’t immediately turn up to their 999, ‘the Police are bloody useless”… then whilst they are still waiting for a patrol to attend another 999 comes in and due to the nature of it, it takes priority. in an ideal world there would be a patrol sat waiting to deal with every 999 as it came in…but we don’t live in an ideal world.
