This forum provides a platform for service personnel to chat over the internet and this also means that your conversations can be seen the worldwide. There is potential to cause a breach of security if you do not think before you post.
This and many other sites are monitored not only by a dedicated and experienced moderation team but other agencies to ensure breaches aren't posted. E-goat enjoys IGS access and has done for over 10 years. This has been maintained by good posting discipline and swift moderation. Lets not lose it by dropping our standards?
Don't post intranet links, times things are happening, where you will be and when, who operationally is where, if a jet is broken, if someone has been injured or worse and it hasn't made the newsfeeds yet etc. Just think of you were someone sitting at their computer trying to gather enough intelligence to be able to do something harmful to one of us and what might help them in their cause...then don't post it!
A simple confidence check that its ok to talk about is if you can see it on the BBC news page then its out in the open and ok to comment on...and even then if it makes you even the slightest bit uncomfortable then leave it well alone.
