One of my guys will soon be giving a speech at his Nan's funeral and she was ex WRAF.

In the Navy the phrase "We wish you fair winds & following seas" is said when a former shipmate passes away, but is there an equivalent saying in the RAF?

I've used the phrase 'Stand down Airman / Airwoman / Sir / Ma'am etc, your duty is now done' or words to that effect but have never heard of something like what the Navy use.

I thought it was 'he promised me his watch...' :D but, seriously, it's a good question &, after all these years, one to which I don't know the answer....

"And we wish him bigger women and longer run ways" is one I have heard before

"Fair winds and clear skies" is another
