LEAN gen

Hi all,

At the risk of being laughed out of the goat, has anyone got any gen/references/soft documents/book recommendations on LEAN. The reason I ask is that I have been out of the 'real' RAF loop for a few years, a lot of people seem to be talking about it (read as slagging it off), and I have no real idea what its about.

Grateful if I could get some solid help/gen before this thread degrades into a 'What the **** do we need LEAN for' and 'all the things I hate about LEAN'

Its basically a way to cut costs and effort, taken from Japanese manufacturing. In civi street its not always known as lean, try reading:

In the RAF its been used to try and streamline our processes (read: cut manpower), theres teams estabalished everywhere, and lads get drafted in to run lean 'events', i've done a few now.
