I would have flooded the road that they were sat on, it is too cold for a wet arse.

The attitude of the thin blue line here exasperates me. The French branch of the Eco nutters tried to stop the Tour De France. The spectators pulled them to the side of the road and held them until the Gendarmes rocked up, who promptly chucked them into the back of a paddy wagon and took them away. In Italy two eco nutters glued themselves to a painting the security guard just pulled them away from the painting leaving bits of protestor stuck there and the police took them away and the guard was praised for his swift actions. We ask them if they are OK and provided tea and biscuits.

About time plod started doing what they are paid for. Or let Joe public deal with them.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the Supreme Court made a ruling about protests, essentially rendering the Police powerless to act until certain thresholds have been met. Length of protest, level of disruption, threat to life etc

Who are you actually referring to by ‘Plod’… the PCs and WPCs out on response or those senior officers responsible for making decisions?

Do you really think that your rank and file copper on the beat would rather stand by and see these tossers taking the piss..or do you think that actually they would rather get stuck in and drag the dickheads out of the way and lock them up for any offence they can think of.? …..You appear to think the initial rather than the latter…

I also assume you also hold the rank and file airmen/ women responsible for the decisions and cockups made by senior officers .
As for letting Joe Public deal with them…., yeah alright…then you start whingeing about how PC Plod deals with that..

I am sure you are correct. The senior officers need to let the officers on the street get on with it. They must be peed off with the eco warriors blocking roads on a daily basis.

I fail to see why targeting art is going to stop oil! I am sure the eco warriors would be given a warm welcome if they were to protest in Saudi Arabia or other oil producing countries like Russia!

Not only that but the bright pink hair on one of the vandals? The vast majority of dyes are made from tar-petroleum products.

I sort of agree, until it comes to dealing with Covid transgressions with a little more enthusiasm than is absolutely necessary, and forcing ones way into someone else's house on the basis of a social media complaint - I could go on....

You are right about the senior officers in the RAF and the somewhat bizarre non-policies they insist upon, but I can personally assure you that those holding a much lesser position of authority see this curious populism as a vehicle to advancement and embrace it accordingly.

Bottom line - the division between the commanded and the commander isn't so so well defined as you might think

They are viewing our continued use of fossil fuels as going beyond the tipping point. They think the time to kick the can down the road has gone. They think radical change is needed now. The scientific community (actually rather clever chaps) has been saying this for years, and no one listened. I remember learning about this in A level Geography in the 1980's and no fecker listened. I remember learning even more about it at university 20 years later and still being called a tree hugger. And another 20 years after that, when no one apart from Rees-Mogg is actually disputing it, still the world prevaricates. Maybe they've got a point.

Most people in the UK lean towards the greens general argument and way of life, however, this type of protest appears to turn more people against them, not towards them.

It reinforces peoples attitudes on either side rather than wins people over to their side, same with the vegan milk spillers.

How long before they gey hungry? Let's hope it chucks it down. Arrest them when they come down.
Trouble is specialists may have to risk their safety to get them down.
