I've heard from 2 different sources, 1 RAF and 1 Army, that troops in Afghanistan are only allowed 2 meals a day because of budget issues. Can anybody shed any light on this rumour?

I did read something about this a few months ago. Along the lines of one of the current hot meals served in the mess will now be a cold meal but it related to the US Army. Not sure about our lads though. I can imagine the pie-eaters getting the hump about it but I haven't a clue whether anyone else would want to take issue. I do recall someone saying that the food in Afghanistan is far better than anything that PAYD serves up.

That wouldn't be difficult to say the least.
