Was only a matter of time since English Heritage slapped conservation orders on most of the buildings at Scampton ... put paid to most plans we had for the place, apparently.

Went for a visit to Scampton a few weeks ago and the CRC looks fantastic. The blocks and Sgt's Mess were also going through a thorough renovation. Clearly a lot of money being spent in support of the CRC. Latest rumour is that an announcement concerning the future of Scampton will be made in the New Year. Now haven't we been in this situation before?? Typical dumb ass politicos and associated sycophants screwing with the lives of honest, hard working, decent folks. If Scampton appears in any way to be the proverbial white elpehant and is forced to close, there will be some very unhappy people!

As for Alnwick District Council lobbyiing Bliar and cronies for a handout; TOUGH S**T. The council should have put something into the community as opposed to take take take. These people have taken the RAF for granted for far too long.

Speaking of new kit, I saw the first DARS iso a few weeks ago at the NPC and it looked really cool.
