Advanced Nurse Practitioners in the RAF?

I am a qualified nurse in the QA's and was just wondering. Does anyone know if there are Advanced nurse practitioners serving in the RAF or other services? If there are, how does one become one or is it a role reserved for officers?
Talking to a few army colleagues there is this general belief that even if it were possible to become one in the army, you probably have to transfer to the navy or RAF to stand a chance.
Any advice will be welcome.
