    4 years ago today.

In Al Udeid, crawling round and under 3 EPWII's with KYK & Spugger getting the bluddy things to work. Jet fully cocked and running, lots of people on the line who would not normally be seen near an aircraft and the odd camera kicking about....none looking in my direction thankfully. AC sorted...

    CT John (Boy) Walton

I worked with him on 12 Sqn, John Boy Walton will be soreley missed by all who knew him. A great character, top fairy, wind up merchant and fellow toon supporter, great shame he's gone. Will be there tomorrow to see him off. RIP John.

    RAF Machrihanish: The Goings On

A spacey summer camp...my mates son went there. He came back home with the normal glazed eyed look of a teenager, or was it brainwashing fom the Joe 90 spinny rig thing that they keep in the stealth hangar. Methinks theres a few people out there who'd be sitting ducks for a 3 man lift or a...

    World War III in 2007?

Hmmm, were these manuscripts found next to Hitlers diary by any chance? It may well be that the seeds of WWIII are being sown at the moment, but this sounds like someones hyping up a book big time to me.

    Whats the difference?

Can any cook/chef out there please explain what the difference is between a stew and a casserole? I've asked a few people and no-one seems to have a clue.

    God......... where is he ???

I'm no great believer in God, but there's plenty of people out there who are and they deserve a bit of respect, as long as they aint the nutter type who have God telling them what to do that is. As for organised churches being corporations, they always have been. I take it your mainly talking...

Whats the best 'Gizzit' you have aquired

Most dets I've been on have seen someone aquire the odd souvenier or two, what's the best one you or a mate have aquired? One of my favourites was liberated from Aalbourg whilst on exchange (remember them?) One of the questions asked on the intro brief was could we take pictures of the...

    MCS Phantom F4

You must be thinking of Balmullo, brings back a funny memory.... Back in 87 we were on one of the many 'locked in the site' exercises, no ex flying through the night so the non op ready crews on the punchy pullets were getting loads of night flying in. Strapped in a fairly pi$hed off JP who...

    Lean

Fair call.....but is the forced change a change for the better? It's all very well to cut manpower and spares to the bone, and I'm sure that the pride of the individual to do the best job he/she can will ensure that the normal day to day taskings get done. IMHO 'fat' in the system is needed...

    Det Music

So many memories of good dets every time I hear certain songs, these stick in my mind the most; The Cars - Shake it up, played in many of the bars in Key West in 83, a month in Florida over spring break with the Buccs. Rolling Sones - The Spider and the Fly, a B-side track found on the jukebox...

    Bye Canberra

Playing a round of golf at Lossie today with the father-in-law and saw a Canberra doing a roller inbetween the tonkas rattling the wax from our ears. Came as a surprise as I thought they had stopped flying, or was that a last jolly round the country before retirement? Shame to see another...

    Isreal vs Palestine

I've been following this thread and a similar one on ARRSE, and was impressed by the following ARRSEr's comments regards the 'Isreal has every right to retaliation' brigade. Discuss?

    JPA 'Back Office'

Many years ago a mate of mine had his pay messed up big time for thee months on the trot, one month he even received a balance of zero on his pay chit. After weeks and weeks of grief and semi-sorting out he had enough, went to Gen Office and threw his ID card on the counter. He told the...
