Hey, before I get slandered this isn't racist, just an observation.

Firstly congratulations to the lad involved.

Having read this article:
http://www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/DefenceNews/PeopleInDefence/EvenInFijiTheRafIsFamous.htm

I had a thought. Once it stopped hurting I realised that I have never met anyone in the RAF from Fiji. I have met many Fijians that serve with the army, even one in the Navy but never one in the RAF.

Before the historians speak up, yes i know that Fijians served in the RAF during WW2, but what about in todays air force?

Have you ever met a Fijian Airman?

Just nearly finished doing a SSAFA case for one...First one I've met myself...

As an aside...and it's just an observation from spending many years in the training system (eng and aircrew) but you could stand looking at your course members at the start and pretty much pick out who will win the trophys and awards before you have lifted a finger in effort...

As an extra we also have several St Helenians in the RAF. Couple of Movers, couple of Gunners, a Dental nurse, a Stacker and a few others. They get to know about us at MPA and come over to join. They struggle to get jobs in the UK as the Euro rules stop them, so we can employ Poles and Ukranians but not members of the Commonwealth, go figure eh!
