So it is on to round 11 of the 2010 F1 WC.
This year the German GP reverts to Hockenheim and is the home race for no fewer the 6 German drivers, Shumacher, Rosberg, Vettel, Glock , Hulkenberg & Sutil.
Hockenheim held its first Formula 1 race in 1977. Originally the track was a 4 mile long sausage shaped track comprising two long straights through a forest joined by a flat out right handers at one end and the current Stadium sector at the other.
The circuits has had three chicanes added, the first two after Jim Clark was killed in 1968 during a Formula 2 race. The third being added after the death of Patrick Depailler died during F1 testing in 1980. The circuit being used today and since 2001 is some 1.2mile shorter than the original track.
Lap Length 2.842 miles
Number of Laps Previously 67 BBC showing it will be 72 laps
(Not sure it can be 72 as it would then mean a race of over 200miles)
The last time out at Hockenheim Lewis Hamilton won the race
Lap Record 1:13.780 - K Raikkonen (2004)
Here are a few videos the first is on the old circuit
