Drinking according to season

What's everyones tipple of choice at the moment? Depending on the time of year, I switch between Bitter (Autumn/Spring), Larger (summer) and Guiness (winter) . However this weekend I have switched into winter mode as I have a craving for Guiness indespersed with glasses of red wine. This is normally a Jan/Feb thing. At this time of year I should be on the cheap+weak lager.

Does onyone else drink according to season? This weekend has cmpl;etely thrown me out. I am really looking forward to tomorrow (couple of Guinesses before lunch, a few glasses of red wine with the meal and back curled up on the sofa with some more black water after).

Bitter and Real ales during the winter, with Whisky, Port and Brandy as a chaser.

Gin, Cider and Red Vino for the Summer.

Cheeky Vimtos for a technicolor hangover when out and about at all times of the year.

Same here.
I prefer a cold Wobbly or Magners during the summer as I find Guiness & Ale's are too heavy in the hot weather.
During winter it's usually the bottled Ales or Guiness.
As for spirits',it's whisky all year round or the odd G n' T.Wine depends on what I'm eating.

Wine at home and bitter in the pub - except when I am driving, then it's best to try and avoid eye contact with me friends, and neck lager instead.

I'm a big real ale drinker (and member of CAMRA) and there is definitely such a thing a seasonal drinking. This time of year I've always got plenty of cold Stellas in the fridge but in the winter I'll be back on the ales. I like a Guinness too. There are plenty of lighter ales though that are really nice to drink in the summer - Badger ales (Dorset) for example are readily available in supermarkets and are ideal for the summer.

Off Topic When I buy beer in supermarkets, I always buy it in bottles. Allegedly metals cans don't affect the taste but I am far from convinced about that!

One of my very favourite ales!

Cider is my summer choice. Just goes down too well on a baking hot day. Lager any other time of the year.

Bitter tastes like dishwater. :pDT_Xtremez_02:
