I do not know what is in the contract with Air Tanker but I am sure there will be some escape clause, however the aircraft are already ordered and in production, so just buy them and fill the Sqn with service personnel. Short term expense for long term gain. No need for all the JAR training and no retention issue. And I can have the job as WO Eng!
That would get my vote::D::pDT_Xtremez_18::pDT_Xtremez_07:

I work within Fwd Support. First time I've done a job like this and it has amazed me how much "waste" there is behind the scenes that doesn't really contribute to keeping aircraft in the air.
I reckon you cut the posts by 50% easily. That's just here at our secret airbase. It seems we've spent so long trying to keep jobs and posts open, we've almost lost sight of what Fwd Support actually means.

The names of sections have changed so many times, I no longer know who is called what. Can't we go back to how it was? Why do we need Wg Cdr Depth, Wg Cdr Fwd, Wg Cdr Logs? They used to be one person-OC Eng!

There's plenty of scope to make realistic cuts, we all know where they should be made. But will the norm happen, will the coal face get chopped again?[/QUOTE]

We know the answer to that, sadly.:0

It appears you have "gained" at least 1 x SO2 recently, although your building is so full already he has taken up residence in SHQ!

He is a stand in, our SO2 was posted short notice. He is filling in until next week when the official replacement gets here.
He is actually in another building because his job is now drawdown officer!

Public sector = paycut. The new government have laid down a marker with their paycut, watch this space for a minimum 5% cut across the board. If you don't like it - you can walk.... that will be the attitude.

Can't see it for the Forces personally. Too sensitive in current climes IMO.

Its exactley the same with MRA4 , all aircraft have now been bought and paid for but it does not stop them canning it , its the operating costs. Luckily while the we still have the Nuclear deterrent MRA4 has gone through ok so far although many think Waddo is next stop but its pretty unlikely for at least 4 years while they train aircrews up , till they have enough to be operational . then move the sim to Waddo and build a new hard stand , then convince about 600 people who have training on a new aircraft to sell there house in Scotland and move to Lincoln within there career time. Interesting times ahead but I think now the Tanker fleet is going to go through what MRA4 went through lately except the MRA4 has made it through the financial craphole.

No European licences are issued under JAR and haven't been for years..:pDT_Xtremez_09:

EASA PART 66 is what they are issued against. Sorry to be picky.

I'd hold the RAF to ransom over that!:pDT_Xtremez_34:
