Can anyone advise me how i can split my pay into 2 bank accounts on JPA?
I was recently told that you can do this for up to 4 separate accounts, but i can't find the option to do this on JPA, and the self service guide doesn't mention it either.
If anyone has managed to do this or knows where i can find a guide i'd appreciate your help.
Thanks

Take your Bank details to your local shiney and they should be able to set that up for you. Can't be more specific right now as nowhere near JPA.

It is actually a paper form that you fill out and then give to your PSF, I have done it and have my claims paid into a separate bank account from my wages so it is definitely possible and was surprisingly easy.

It's located within the forms area in the library section located within the JPA portal page. Not sure what the actual form number is mind you.

Piece of p1ss to action it onto the system though.

It's a JPA form E016a. You can download from Airspace if you have a login or through the JPA Portal.

Thats great, thanks very much.
Would i need to submit it before a certain date in order for it to take effect at the end of May?

MONDAY!!!
You won't catch me in work on a bank holiday! ha ha
I do have internet banking, and already have standing orders set up to transfer the money i need into another account, but due to the way banks work my digital money transfer takes 5 working days, meaning i have a whole in my funds for that period and they gain interest for holding onto my money.
Before anyone suggests going to the cash point and taking the cash out, and putting it into the other account in person, neither of my banks are local and involve a 40 min drive each way to the nearest town with both of these banks in, unless i am at home, but thats rare on pay days.
Splitting my pay like this will save me a lot of hassle and allow instant access to my 'spending money' :)

Whether you are making the split on absolute or percentage terms, your second account should be annotated as '100%'.

I'll try to explain. If you set it up so that £200 goes into your 'priority 1' account, you then need to request that '100%' goes into your 'priority 2' account. Come payday, JPA will look at each account in priority order and credit them accordingly. If you overthink it and put £200 in your 'priority 1' account, work that out to be around 10% of your net pay so put 90% in your 'priority 2' account the time will come when there will be a bit left over that JPA won't know what to do with, causing you undue heartache. I hope that makes sense.

I think i understand.
So i request £200 (or the relevant percentage) into one account and then 100% of the remainder into the other account?

Why dont you pay the whole lot into one account, then set up transfers out to your others. That way with one single payment you can easily check the haven fekked up your pay!

Doesn't help you in the short term, however I have read recently (however cannot remember where) that in the next year or two banking procedures will change (under a european directive) so that when you transfer money from one account to another, the money is instantly available.

I don't understand how this isn't possible these days anyway, after all, if i applied for a loan this morning and it was succesfull i would have the money available this afternoon. Its just a digital transfer of numbers, so not really a difficult task.
If my bank was to withdraw the cash, count it in person, then put it in a little rucksack and catch the bus to my other branch, and then deposit it for me then i would be happy to wait five days..

Having done a little internet search and also having just transferred a large amount of dosh myself this afternoon, it seems some banks already have it in place. Its also commonplace in most of Europe.

I've just transferred a deposit for a house from a Lloyds TBS account to my solicitors bank and upon pressing the "Send Payment" button, it said that the funds would be transferred and available immediately.

However it would seem that not all banks are working to this service and some may even be charging for it. Cheeky s0ds.:pDT_Xtremez_25:

I've yet to be charged, but the loss of interest (OK its pennies, but they are my pennies) and hole in my funds is annoying.
My Standing order has been running for a few months now, and i've never seen the money in under 5 working days.
Not to worry, PSF now has my paperwork to split my pay as requested, so fingers are firmly crossed that it will be up and running by the next pay run.

I set up a split of my wages back in March.
It missed the mid-month run but was set up in time for April's pay.

Once you've got it all set up,you can manage the amounts via JPA should you need to change the split etc.

To be honest, I was dreading the thought of doing anything relating to my pay but really impressed with how simple it all was.
