Told this morning that 2 engines failed boroscopes last night. Tad early for an engine strip and analysis me thinks!

More than likely just a precautionary act but better safe than sorry. Could you imagine the outcry if one did go in and the AAIB found that a possible cause was volcanic ash!!!!

Well it is better than having a million pound jet crashing because of some ash. Well it is know proven then ash could lead to engine stoping or clunking out on you.

Got one here ideal jet for the discerning buyer, just one lady owner, low mileage, never thrashed, suits you sir, just your colour. Ah the drips one of my lads over filled it today loverly runner though, no no that's not ash it just the residue of the wadpol my boys haven't quite polished all of it yet looks good in the sunlight doesn't it. The cost well you have an honest face lets say after discount a cool 1 mil for you I'll forget the VAT just this once.

Heard the news about Typhoons being grounded because of the volcanic ash.

Just calm down, put your flying suit back on and read last weeks "spotters 'r' us" one more time then have another drink.
There will be air shows and they will sell anoraks don't fret all will be well.

I would have thought that the helicopters that were built for the sand pit (Afghanistan) would be able to fly in the ash as of the filters and all the protection they have.

I know this is off thread ,but ive just seen the word WODPOL .Good god i was using that in the 70s. Are the raf still using it,havent thay found anything better.I sill have nightmares about polishing lightnings with the stuff.

The filters aren't fitted for UK ops.
