I have registered my interested in joining the RAF. I keep ringing to see when they are recruiting again but keep being told to keep ringing back every month. Can anyone give me a realisitic time of when the trades are re-opening. The Trades im interested in are Driver and Supply.

A fair bet would be April 10. However, some trades are becoming available as and when, which is why the AFCO is suggesting that you call back every so often. We appreciate your perseverence, as hollow as it may sound.

I applied for ICT tech Jan 09 and 15 months later after passing every test first time I got a letter today they cannot proceed due to limited spaces, so I guess if you get in your one of the lucky ones.

Trades are opening and closing all the time, if you have registered with the RAF Careers Information Line then they will email you when the trade opens.

I think there may be a long wait for your chosen trades, however, things are moving around at the moment. Just remember it's those who action the email first who will get the jobs and those who are slow will have to wait.

From what I've heard so far trades are open for about 2 to 4 hours before they close again, there are a lot of people wanting jobs right now and not many to go around.
