Anyone got any good tips for the national?

So far I've been told that 'dusty carpet' is worth a punt...my friend tells me its never been beaten...

Anyone else?

State of play got to be worth an each punt, finished 4th last year and is carrying 5lb less this year.

Odds of 19-1 with bet fair

Mon Mome has got to be worth an EW bet with it's recent record.

Character Building is also another worth while EW bet.

At the risk of tightening the odds (yeah, right) Piraya looks like a fruity each way bet:

Young French horse at 7, going looks good for tomorrow and warmer than of late, which may attract lower weights and not favour the elderly nag, and he carries only 10.7. 1st last but one time out (doesnt seem to like the heavy going or the race over 3 miles)....I like him though where we might get a firm assessment, and at 100-1 what can you do but dream? It's one of my my three.......

.............(and I made nearly 700 last year for 25 outlay)

As always its a pretty open field the big money seems to be on BigFellaThanks with Ruby Walsh in the saddle, but I wouldn't put it past Tony McCoy to finally get a National winner(15th time of asking) on Don't Push It.
Last year's winner, Mon Mome, has some good recent form too so may be worth a punt.
My money will be on Character Building, with lady jockey Nina Carberry on board.
But let's face it it's the National and anything can win it, good luck everyone!

I did, as an ass coverer at 16-1 EW. So thanks for that small profit - but no retirement this week.

We also had the winner. My missus was out shopping and went in the bookies and picked 'a nice name'

£1 each way at held odds of 16/1. £22, thank you very much. Might not be enough to retire on but the Chinese we buy with it tonight will taste just a little bit better for being free :)

Your missus and mine aren't related are they? Last time we went to the races - £20 each - I applied scientific logic, form, etc. Mrs 'Fuse chose 'nice colour silk', pretty name, etc. End of the day - myself - feck all. Mrs 'Fuse £50.
