Gotta be multiskilling for me.

Joined up as Radar, then absorbed Air Comms and Flight Systems with very little training. But for the other 2 taking on RADAR, HA! waveguide theory etc lol

Then Air Cameras (though we only found that out when some one dumped a phantom camera into the MCS bay at wattisham and we all went went take it to the clickies, only to find out that we were now the clickies.)

Then absorbed Lecky (without the pets)

This sort of mucked up promotions as each time we amalgamated the snec slots stayed the same but the work force trebled and doubled respectively.

Hit squads it seems are now required for promotion.

Admittedly another bone of contention for me. Separate boards saw me placed well within a fighting chance of getting promoted but once the amalgamation came through I suddenly found myself a couple of hundred slots down the list.

Hmmm?

Hmmm?

Well I've been knocking about for a bit more than ten years.

I remember the day Labour were voted in... my instructor at the time said we were in the sh1te.

I didn't believe him until now!

However, I think the biggest problem has been the manpower cuts. The lack of manpower, on top of everything else has led to many becoming jack, only thinking about there own plot... because they aint got time to worry about others any more.

In addition, an increase in manpower would help us deal with such misguided acts as LEAN as well as give us a reserve of people to deal with any problems that the government decide we can solve!

Fine sentiment HTB, but we just know it isn't going to happen. Various policies have drained this country of monetary resources and without that, we're stuffed.

Civilianisation and contractorisation has been around for a while but, for me, JPA has had the biggest impact.

I personally find it, and the JPAC, simply useless. The fact that we have lost all our Allowance Clerks but seem to be getting more and more Corp Gov/NAO queries proves that it has failed miserably.

I once again, today, received another 80 expense claims from Corp Gov for checking (some over 2 yrs old). If JPA has not selected them for authorisation then why are they being selected now?

I find JPA so frustrating.....oh well, only 2 yrs to do!

Great thread and good reading - interestingly EVERY item in the poll has a strong personal value to be stood against, but for me the ridiculous Fwd and Depth concept, opening the floodgates for contractors to rape the MOD coffers is paramount to gross incompetence. There was a reason why the Binbrook model was implemented and proven to work. If I were a contactor, I'd be permanently at the hospital having my co*k sewn back on after laughing it off every day.

Laughed mine off at that as not a truer word said. Must say could do with an 'all the above' vote. I can't put it down to any one but is a combination of them all and more

Biggist laugh must be signing the whole life support contracts for numerous aircraft fleets and then down sizing the fleets!!
