Horrifying numbers of injured

It has just been on Sky News that 57 men and women have been injured in the FIRST half of July in Afganistan, i hate to think how many have been injured in the whole of July. This govenment should hang their heads in shame - oh they can't because they are all on holiday!!

Another three dead are coming home as i type this as i can hear the bell in Lyneham Church.

The high July figure is probably due to Op Panther's Claw.
Yes i know. The govenment were keeping quiet about the figures. I can't help wondering what the whole total is since the 'war' started.

Why wonder just look them up they are freely available.

I think that anyone who doesnt realise there have been injured is increadibly short sighted, we have seen the repatriations on a regular basis and common sense dictates that for every fallen serviceman there ill be a larger number of injured and the phrase horrifying is totally in the Red Top draw of sensationalisation. Its not good and its not ideal but the more and more we fuel the media fire the worse it will get.

I like most serving goaters have been to the sandy places and in my role I have seen first hand the wounded and killed. You sit down with the young soldiers in the hospital and most are gutted by being flown home they just want to get sorted and then get on with their job and i have the utmost respect for them.

You have to question the figures and break them down is this number all casualties inc routine sports injuries, heat exhaustion or a miriad of other non-battle injuries or are they battle injuries?

A nurse that I know told me the other day that on average for every 1 KIA, expect another 3 walking wounded. Sad facts indeed. :0

Maybe more reason to donate some money to one of our charities E-Goat supports - Troop Aid. Have a look at the website, as these people do loads to support the injured guys.
