Sorry to pi$$ on your bonfire, but 90SU is pretty much the posting you'll get fresh out of trg. It's quite a good base to start from. Especially if you want to work with the rocks!

Negative mate, heard that some will be sent to GRMS's (the ones with a decent training package in place).

PVR, I was trying out a tactic that if he expects the worst (in his view) then if he gets 1ACC, he'll be pleasantly surprised. if he did get 90SU, however, he would see me as an insightful, finger on the pulse type of person!

Win win either way...!

Chances of Ground Radio slim. An IT section is more likley but ground radio not likley as number of equipment Q courses open to you is very limited. You have to be ex 1932 or completed BT2 or course 4001( I think thats the new name) before you can complete most of the Ground Radio equipment courses. Anyway at momment very few ground radio PET courses hapening as someone turned all but OOA ones off!!

I got ground radio as my first posting. Not as many people going to 90SU recently from cosford as their used to be. the only courses we arn't alowed to do are Radar courses. That is until the 4001 course has been started

Ha friggin Ha! Actually... Fair one!:pDT_Xtremez_14:
:pDT_Xtremez_14: Anytime mate!

Chances of Ground Radio slim.

Tell that to the two due into one very, very soon.

An IT section is more likley

Heard of DII? Legacy kit is on it's way out, no reason to trouble nice shiny new TG4 types with Pentium 1's... IT wil be gone soon enough, leaving I-Hubs, commcen, dato, mss, awc and grms's, and even they will are drawing down. There are a few more oddities, (90SU included :pDT_Xtremez_06:) but this trade is dying and renaming it a dozen more times will not change the inherent contractualisation of most blue suit jobs.

ground radio not likley as number of equipment Q courses open to you is very limited

They will have to do it eventually, as us TG3 are jumping ship, and someone has to do it... who do you think will do it? Fair enough, they will probobly have to start small, like single channel, mascot and PAR to teach them what BT didn't, but radar and some other hefty kit will undoubtedly be on the ciriculum eventually.

Rise above the rest. PVR.

Ok here is the list as I know it of courses you cant do: Watchman, SSR (either) TACAN, DRDF (No decision on HRDF yet) leaving you with basically Mascot Single Chanel, Multi chanel and RPAR. Multi and RPAR are currently switched off.

OK..Igiveup

I think the slots are for comms signaller (they didn't tell you about them in the AFCO did they?)

If you can opperate a radio surely they will be suitable for a TG4 any slot?

May include a bit of BOWMAN, but thats basic IP comms stuff nowadays for the younger generation?

I cannot see the issue with a newly qualified guy going there? never stopped us getting rapier/AD slots?

If its something you fancy get it put down.

who puts negative choices? it is just a least preference choice I was told.
