Hi all, i've tried looking for this information elsewhere but can't seem to find it anywhere..
I've got my filter interview for pilot at my AFCO next monday (for the second time - applied last year and before i got to OASC they said re-apply in a year).
Provided all goes well i'll get a date to attend OASC but i have one thing that is bothering me slightly, about 6 years ago during a routine appointment at my opticians i found it very difficult to read some of the numbers on the little dotty pieces of paper the bloke gave me, he said it could mean i am slightly red-green colour blind, however i booked an appointment afterwards for a few weeks later and could read the cards okay, i have done several of the dotty colour blind tests since (including during my medical to join the auggies) and they have all shown normal vision.
I know this sounds rather a pointless post but it is playing on my mind so i thought i'd try and get some info from you knowledgeable goaters... When i do my medical at OASC will i just do the dotty paper colour tests or will there be other tests too? I've heard of something called a lantern test and wondered what that entailed as i'd hate to get the OASC and fail some part of my medical after all the prep i've done over the past 12 months or so.
Are there any suggestions from people in either a similar situation, or someone who has been to OASC applying for Pilot, or anyone that works in a med centre that may be able to offer some nuggets of information? Thanks for any advice in advance (sorry for the large post on something that may seem so trivial, it's just on my mind that's all) DT_Xtremez_35:
