SWO here said the wearing of stable belts is being encouraged unless you are actually warfighting/engaging the enemy. Come from on high seemingly.

According to the AP, stable belts are not to be worn on operation or exercise. Arrest them all.

The hierachy have decided we need to be identified as RAF and not Army, hence the name badges/TRFs/EAW badges etc. So in their infinate wisdom they sanctioned the wearing of a stable belt with a shiny buckle that says RAF, a bit like the RAF Gunners have worn for years. However as far as I am aware you have to buy the said item, that alone should deter many of us from donning the acutriment!

If thats the case - I'll have mine issued thanks.
Indeed. If they want us to try a method that the army already use for unit recognition (instead of the dessie ROYAL AIR FORCE that might as well be a patch of desert camo stitched over), then they can issue it.

Off Topic a tadge.
A few years back in Cyprus i saw the ultimate snob with clippy cloppy bodue boots, he went dow a storm on the pan. All degrees and no common

This is wrong and shows just how out of touch the REMFs in the RAF are nowadays.

Correct Deployment dress.

DPM shorts, t-Shirt, socks, boots.

This immediately identifies you to all the no-marks as RAF no need for Stable belt, TRF, EAW and all the other b0llocks that we are being increasingly forced to wear by Senior Officers and Staff Wallahs at Al Udied.

There is no room for the Stable Belt, clippy cloppy shoes, forage cap, Forward delivery people in CS 95 and the myriad of other waster b)llocks - don't get me started on the extra creases ironed into shirts (including CS 95!.)

Wrong wrong Wrong

In Bas last year the RSM wanted to know why I wasn't wearing any sort of belt on my dessies so I told him the truth, when I got kitted I asked supply for the plastic type one and they said no entitlement - therefore 4 months and no belt worn!
