I know this guy and it is a great shame he hit STCs containing engines and not one of the empty ones that Supply sent half way round the world to me on det instead of a full one.

You wouldn't let it lie!!!!!:pDT_Xtremez_09: still I was not there then :pDT_Xtremez_31:

When he informed his insurance company (he was insured at the time, although his MOT had run out and he was trying to fix things to pass the MOT), they wrote and asked him "who insured you to be on an airfield?". His lawyer instructed him to write back to them and say "you did, my address was an airfield!", he never did so the insurance company left it at that.

Nice to see the comments on here, cant beat rumour! Obviously he upset some people at Odiham and, well everyone is welcome to their opinion. I personnaly know this fella and he is a top mate. Ok he made a mistake and he has paid for it. I think its unfair to spread lies and abuse him behind his back when you dont post your name up!!!!!!!!!

Well said that man. This thread is about the MOD trying to reclaim the cost and not a medium for personal attacks on Matt.

Ha ha, i was at Odiham at the time when he did this, if you can't handle the power Matt, don't attempt doughnuts in front of your mates.

It is a better offer though! They did ask him for 1/2 million at one time, the cheeky fnuckers tried charging him for carrying out a Mod on the engine as well!

I told him to make them an offer to pay £10 a month until it was paid.:pDT_Xtremez_14:

This story isn't just about that. It's about stupidity of the highest order, bringing the RAF into disripute and increasing our insurance premiums.

Heard of a squaddie in Germany who purchased a ganst neue Focus sporty thing. He took it to the Nurburgring, wrote it off and tried to claim off his insurance. They gave him the big FO as his insurance didnt cover days out to the race track.

Same with all track days. That's why they record VINs reg plates etc. Insurers are wise to this kind of thing. Get track day insurance, or better a track day tool.
