Fellow goaters, Food For Heroes is the work of a group of personnel from RAF Aldergrove who, in association with the national Help for Heroes campaign, want to do something significant for the Servicemen and women injured during service in Iraq, Afghanistan and other theatres in which British Forces are currently operating. The idea behind Food for Heroes is a cookery book like no other; a cookery book filled with the recipes that each of us, given the chance, would cook for our hero.

The aim is to raise £100,000 for the Help for Heroes campaign by donating all profits from the cookery book towards their target of £6,000,000. This will provide essential rehabilitation facilities for the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court for those Servicemen and women returning injured from Britain's Overseas Operations.

Celebrities such as David Beckam, Kylie, Nell McAndrew, Alex Ferguson, Wayne Rooney, Michael Cain are being approached for their support and recipes, but if you could have a look at the site and make suitable encouraging comments in the guest book I'm sure this would help to persuade them and others that this is a worthy cause.

For those who have yet to purchase Food For Heroes all I will say is that it is a fantastic book full of easy Recipes as well as a few more complicated ones but many of the classics in there such as Beef Wellington and even an Egg & Chip Banjo! the book is excellent, it would make a brilliant Christmas Stocking Filler...
