I do believe that it will be on BFBS during the next week (must get the guide tomorrow). Any documentry showing what British forces are doing and having to face in the Stan and Iraq is no bad thing.

We have been ducking some flying objects again this evening.:S

Its on BFBS 2 on Thursday evening. I'll sure be tuning in, hopefully not having to see if the floor needs mopping again from 1 inch away.

I liked the bit on the range when they're talking about his range score and a voice behind says loudly "Special Forces my ar$e !"

I couldn't help wondering if that really was his first go at it !

He played the commander of an SAS regiment in a programme called Ultimate Force a few years ago, he may have had some kind of weapons handling training for that.

Funny you should mention that Mrs M as I was watching Ultimate Force on ITV4 last night. After seeing his drills he must have only had a little bit of training, they were effing shocking.................not a forward assist to be seen in the whole episode:pDT_Xtremez_15: ::/:

I have just watched a recording of last nights programme and thought it was great. Itwas very moving when the Herc did the flypast and dipped his wing.It reminded me of Wildenrath in the mid 80's when the IRA killed and injured some of our personnel, including a baby. I am now out of the forces but very proud of my time in (13yrs) and do not regret 1 day. This programme is a great advert for the reality of being in the forces nowadays-far more dangerous than my time in the late 70's and 80's- but also for the camaraderie which you will never experience in civvy street.

They should have a special showing of this series in the House of Commons to every MP and make it mandatory viewing for every last man jack of them :pDT_Xtremez_32:
Give some of those smug fat tw@ts something to think about next time they need to make a decision about the defence budget or whether to use the armed forces in yet another geopolitical points scoring exercise.
Just MHO of course.

Couldn't agree more - should be mandatory for all chinless wonder money-grabbing politicians.

Watching the mother of Private Chris Gray tonight I don't mind admitting I had "itchy eyes" 19 years old FFS. His life had barely started. Those lad out there deserve the best, NOT the fcuking cheapest !

Despite when any of you think about Ross Kemp's acting or rugby prowess, at least he's had the kahunas to get out there on the ground with the Vikings...... can't see many 'celebs' doing that at all.

As said before, perfect timing for the PRB and for the general public to see what's really going on out there. Its just a shame that its on SKY, because something like this should be on BBC1 prime time.

Every time i watch this my heart is pounding, waiting for whats going to happen next. There was a bit in this weeks one where they were on patrol in Now Zad and i said to mono, its so quiet. At moments like that you are waiting for the first shot!

Watching the helmet cam of private gray was very moving. Lump in my throat. I shed a tear at the start as well when they showed the tribute to Darren Bonner, the first to be killed. I hate to see men cry. I am looking forward to next weeks but i am also nervous. Programme info says they lose 3 in a tragic accident. :S

Ross Kemp has some big hairy kahoonas for going out there BY CHOICE. I bet by the next episode though, he has had his tooth re-capped! :pDT_Xtremez_28:

Was really angry when watching the first episode, was sitting watching it at the girlfriends and her old man was about.

The guys were out training and things weren’t going smoothly at the FIBUA and then they had a problem on another training mission.

He turned and said:

"This all looks so amateurish, they look like raw recruits, no wonder they are taking casualties"

I nearly had to be restrained.
Gave him both barrels, explained that they were on a ramp up of pre deployment training and for that them to get to that stage they had to have experience and skills.

As for taking casualties, it is a war, and a bloody tough one against a determined enemy.

After that it seemed to hit home pretty hard. I hope that he has now changes his mind as I know he set the Sky+ for the rest of the series.

I have been very impressed by the programme, it has shown me a lot more than i can read or hear about. Just hope Joe public sees what the lads are doing out there.
