And when was the last time a visiting captain won at HQ in his first match as skipper ?

I think it may have been Billy Trew in 1909....................

don't quote me on that though..... Welsh Rugby history isn't a strong point. You tell me Sospan. :pDT_Xtremez_28:

To be honest was it the skill of wales or the apathy of England?

I'll go for the apathy of England.

If any of you want to argue that it was the skill of Wales, have a hard look at the stats, before you open your mouth and see the amount of turnovers made, line outs lost and loss of set pieces to name but a few

I thank ewe.....................

Oh and just to rub it in - the top tackler?

One newly capped Luke Narraway..................

Now who does he play for again??

We could argue stats until we are blue in the face. If England had had more ball in the second half then Narraway wouldn't have needed to make so many tackles. That's not to say we don't have things to address before next weekend - lineouts and not spilling the ball in the first tackle just for starters.

Ultimately, however, history will look back at yesterday and see only the result. :pDT_Xtremez_28:

Oh, yes. I think your volcano must be dormant.

I couldn't tell you either, but what I know for sure is only one team had a captain during the second half. :pDT_Xtremez_15:

I am far from a smug winner, I still feel that game should have been beyond our grasps after the first half. Both teams have much to improve if anybody is to beat the frogs this year.

If you want to go down the stats road, England were beaten by a team who are lying 8th in the Mangers league ! :pDT_Xtremez_42:

Yep, had a long hard look at the stats, here, http://www.rbs6nations.com/en/matchcentre/7991.php?section=stats&fixid=36369, and i must say that the stat that stands out is this one, 19 - 26! And i've even gone to the trouble of hilighting it for you, in victorious red of course.

Trouble is it's a cup final to the Welsh not the English, the biggest game of the 6 nations to an Englishman is against the frogs.

Not being bitter here, well done to Wales but I do think that it means more to the Welsh if they beat England than it does the other way round.
That's because you expect your team to win..... we don't. :pDT_Xtremez_42:

I rest my case!

Oh c'mon, the endless ribbing we endure each year from you buggers, it's nice to get the chance to give a little back :pDT_Xtremez_15:

Says SB sitting in an English office, wearing a Welsh shirt ::D:
Oh yeah ! :pDT_Xtremez_28: It's just a shame a certain ERS sgt isn't here to make my coffee again !! :pDT_Xtremez_28:

I play rugby out here in Cyprus with the 1st Batallion the Royal Welsh Fusilliers, and I was the only Englishman and Only RAf bloke in the team and in the bar on Saturday wearing me England shirt to boot, no need to guess how much ribbing I got all effing night long. Still IMHO the best team one in the end (I had to hold down the vomit whilst typing that)

PS how do you change your flag on here?

Jake White has just been interviewed on 5 live and he still thinks its between England and France for the championship.

Incidentally, he wants to be the next Lions coach.

I believe that England should have won the game at the weekend easily. Had they even half shown up for the second half then Wales wouldnt have stood a chance. Having watched the Frogs and Jocks (I missed the other one) I seriously dobubt that with those performances that England or Wales would beat either team.

If Wilkinson gets hit with a ban he will be hard done by. Henderson deserves the book throwing at him. Our glorious game is not a fekkin MMA arena, keep your head/knees/elbows/feet/fists to yourself. Wilkinson had gone in for a tackle, you could argue a swinging arm but hes tackling a forward in full flow. He has set himself and if he hadnt swung his arm out there he would have been critisized for not using his fekkin arm!

Damned if you do damned if you dont.

Well done Taffs, the best team didnt win on the day - the least bad team won.

Sorry Auchter I disagree completely. Neither of yesterdays teams would have beaten Wales the way they played in the second half on Saturday. A shame really, as awful as the French were, Scotland should have buried them.

The best team DID win on the day... you must have seen them mate, they were dressed in red shirts with big ferkin smiles !! ::D:

you missed my point SB

Either France or Scotland would have been so far in front by the time Wales decided to play that they wouldnt have caught up. Conversely either team would have done to England what Wales did to them.

For the record though I think France would have beaten Wales this weekend whilst I might be selected for the next England squad, thats how bad I thought they were. The Welsh pack for the whole game had me wondering if I had any claim to selection for the principality. They certainly improved in the second half due mainly to the English pack thinking it was a game of sevens!
