I've heard that the board will be completed tomorrow 17 Oct 07 and should be ratified by next week .

The numbers have been quite vague since the new TS postponed the original board in September to gauge a true record of numbers required.

I think we'll have to sit this one out.

I have heard that the board has just finnished, although numbers are sketchy. The info I have gleaned is that they are hot on leadership and management areas at the moment so if your F6000 doesn't big them up, you may be out of luck. Secondary duties are always good too, as long as they can also bring out these two attributes. Although I'm not a scouting person, it probably sounds better to lead and manage a scout club that be deputy publicity rep for an ents committee.

What is your definition of a 'good lad'? Someone who is good at their job, or someone who makes you laugh but is not as good?

Food for thought

I know of 2 fine airmen/women that have been told they are promoted but...not sure when exactly!
Nothing like a bit of suspense for the lads & lasses ay?

One of our lads made no.1 on the board (deservedly so too), but has been told to hold fire for 3 weeks while they work out what's happening with the reduction in trade numbers (130ish apparently???).
We have a few who came out in the 40's and low 50's, who aren't holding their breath after the immediates [apparently] have been reduced to 15. One girl came in @ 20, she must be gutted, but she should still be ok I reckon?

I personally don't think anyone should be told until it's definite, with a date and a position in tow. It's a sh1te state of affairs how it's done now.

Roger that big fella! Totally agree!

It's all those scaredy cat Cpls who didn't take their thirds on the last board that have caused this 'promotion traffic jam'.
What's the matter with Regt Sqns, TSW or MCTC Colchester anyway?

Personally I don't know how any stacker can have a laugh these days, what with everything going on in the trade at the moment. Now I hear that Cpls are getting DWR'd every 2 years again. It's appalling.

Anyway, the Bishop is back from his 7 1/2 month OOA non stacker job, even though we were told no sneck stackers are doing jobs outside of supply! He's lost weight and looking tanned! Welcome back Bishop!:pDT_Xtremez_28:

Yep, it's true. I got back from MPA May last year and am now on reserve to go OOA with an LTA of Feb next year.

7 1/2 months? can you say where he has been? just out of interest:pDT_Xtremez_42:

Kandahar. He was origonally going to fill a post as convoy commander with the Army! However, when he arrived they had no clue what he was there for. He then got put into an ops job!

Anyway, back on thread, SAC's promoted? Whatever next! ::p:

Norman,
What has it got to do with Cpl's not taking their 3rd? If they don't want it surely it is passed onto the next on the list? Don't see how that would have an affect on the SAC board. True it might slow things up for a while, but better late then never.

Some Cpl's just don't want their 3rd and want to bang out at 22.

You've just answered your own question mate. That's exactly what I meant. It's taken longer than expected to fill the vacant Sgt's posts therefore, it'll take longer for the Cpl's posts to become available. This will then affect the amount of SACs that will get promoted, immediately.

As for Cpl's not taking their third & banging out at 22, if you've got enough time left to qualify for a SNCO's pension, for the sake of 5 weeks worth of courses you'd have to be an idiot to throw the money away.
If you can afford to do that then please feel free to send any spare cash to me. Thank you.
