Hmmm... Carol Postlethwaite...

Hmmm... Carol Postlethwaite...

Swinderby Feb-Apr 90 15 FLT Old school those where the days buffing the floors at stupid o-clock am 4 hours sleep a night
MFT at Lufneham throwing up over my flight comander after Thor run !!! pity really she was really fit
Then renlisting and having to do RTS at Halton deep joy

Eeeeeek!

Swinderby Feb '90, 3 Sqn 15 Flt - I was there then too!!! Absolutely feckin hated the place! In fact, I was sure it couldn't get any more w^nk, until the band played the theme music to the fekkin A-Team at our pass-out parade, cnuts!!!

Suffice to say, we had a great bunch of lads! Even the DIs, Cpl 'Are you on fakkin draggs' Cole and Sgt Andy 'Fakkin shat aaap' Rahaman turned out to be spot on!

We did have a chuckle on that one saturday night when we all stole off into Lincoln (we were meant to be grounded), only to find that the bouncers on the door at Ritzy's were our moonlighting regiment instructors...

Trebl 8 & Kernow, I fully agree that Fg Off Carol Postlethwaite was indeed a bit of a girl - I'll never forget her announcing to the flight (as we got back indoors immediately after our pass-out parade) that she'd 'forgot' to put on any knickers that day... Worra treat!

She was definately my favourite element of recruit training... :pDT_Xtremez_30:

Did Swinderby in 1971 18Flt remember being used as a pin cushion 15 weeks (and donors to the girls of Spittlegate. We then went and did a version of the international tatoo at York. Rigger mechs course at St Athan without doing too much self abuse. First posting was Colerne the Herc M.U 16 in harmony said "i thought you couldn't go abroad on your first posting". Spiritual home will always be Linton -on- Ouse The RAFs best kept flying club.

Swinderby Jan 82 Mighty 5 Flt. Spiritual RAF home would be Gatow Berlin. Best 4 years so far especially as everything kicked off while we where there. 87-91.

Swinderby 1986. Hated every second of it, spending "fun" evenings with a toothbrush and a tin of boot polish cleaning the black bits between the bathroom tiles.

Coltishall = Spiritual home. Two tours there and had the great honour of hauling the ensign down on the last day - well worth sacrificing 6 months' career on drawdown duties!

19 Flt at Swinditz on 27th Oct 1987.

First ever 19 Flt we were told at the time.

But I was a splitter so it has to be Halton all the way. Lord T would turn in his grave if I said anything otherwise! :D

Off Topic I was reading some archive stuff about Halton and apparently Lord T was the reviewing officer for the first Appo entry that passed out. He backcoursed the whole lot of them for not meeting his standards! Crack on!

Thats gen mate, he ordered a group of Appos backcoursed because although they had passed out, there were far too few LAC and AC1s! I read that in AP 3003 of all places....

Halton 68, Rigger Craft Apprentice. Spiritual home though has to be Scampton, had great times there as a kid (dad was a vulcan crew chief) and my first posting on the mighty Vulcan.

Started off at Halton, 1995, then on to PWTS at Cosford, a smally I know.

Real spiritual home has to be Bruggen as a jellytot, I was there during the drawdown, a shadow of its former self but still a unique lifestyle, I'd give almost anything to relive those days.

2 Flt, Nov 83 under the heal of the Foz

Swinderby Nov 83 18 Flt (Cpl McKinnley)... Damn it, in all this time I`ve only made it to Capt and you`ve made Full Colonel ... still it was worth it ... getting caught in bed with Destiny, Harmony, Rhapsody, Symphony and the large chested Melody is a life memory. If memory serves me well, Symphony had a Hollywood :pDT_Xtremez_15:
