Was it an inaccuracy Penfold or are the Green Jobs getting you acclimatised to their way of life? THINK GREEN, THINK GREEN, THINK GREEN.

Eeeeeek! I watched it too - complete kak! I fully concur wh the 'occifers beret' observation as well! It was one huge bunch of arse really - made us look like a load of nasty, stiff upper lip, robotic fools! Not to mention the stereotypical tall, dark pilot zipping around in hs posh rag-top! That said, Big Brother was on the other side & I'd rather eat my own leg than watch that (unless the wife makes me - which is most nights...)

Well it was filmed here at RAF Bentely Priory! I didnt know but wondered why people were walking around without head dresses. Only to be confronted with a film crew! They filmed Judge John Deed a few weeks later!

I watched this utter bilge last night.

For a start the actual drama and the acting was just plain diabolical - the two principle characters (the pathologists) were the most drippy, pathetic people to ever feature on the tele, evAr.

Someone was trying to make a political point about the Mull crash - or had done their research on PPrune.

The inaccuracies were many and varied.

But quote of the month came from the dashing pilot in his rugby shirt and jacket (they got the pilot's dress-sense right at least) saying...

(this is great)....

"Pilots don't complain, not even the dead ones."

:pDT_Xtremez_31: :pMSL:

Don't think I'll bother with the conclusion - Big Brother is on, and although I'll spend the entire 60 minutes of BB vomiting blood, it's preferable to another hour of that bollox.

Yeah it was pretty cool

What was funny is the money was received for the shoot it had already been spent on carpet someone had forgot to pay for. Most the money goes to a central contract we emloy a civil servant to generate a set figure every year, I think its around £250k.

Given above though it was a bit cheeky when they start telling you to be quiet in your own bar! In John Deed I think a Serviceman was on trial for killing somone! but there was plenty of "hanger on" totty with the film.

They also filmed som esleep depridation thing in the now partially flooded bunker! it seems here and RAF Halton get a lot of filming, unless some flying is required!

Strange how TV companies can get the emergency services just about right, yet fail miserably when it comes to the armed forces.

An AVM turning up within 15 minute of the crash................

Posh black Landrovers with blue flashing lights................

Everyone wearing 'chiefy' berets.................

Belts on the outside of CS95..................

Illegal detention of civilians......................

Pilots uniform in the morgue that of an Airman.......................

Everyone stomping about saluting each other every 15 seconds............

What a load of dogs c0ck

If the TV company did obtain the services of a 'military adviser' he/she should hang their head in shame. If it was filmed at Bentley Priory, then you should have thought that the RAF may have actually said - Hang about boys, its not done like that.......................

Just another shot in the foot for the RAF and once again totally mis-represented to the masses.

We had the cameras at Coningsby a few years ago for a "Tornado F3 versus an F1 type thing"

The scene was that the HAS doors open and a load of smoke comes billowing out (I had to open the HAS doors, keeping out of camera shot at all times). The scene then cuts to the crew walking out of the efflux tunnel, climbing straight into the jet and strapping themselves in!! When I quietly pointed out that this was complete tosh and wouldn't happen without the crew walking round the jet and Groundcrew in attendance to strap them in or even man a fire bottle, I was told "It's for effect and in any case the cameras are here for them, not you".

When did we start fitting four blade heads to chinooks too?

probably at the same time as we fitted doors from the flight deck to the bomb-bay in Vulcans along with huge red 'warning: decompression' lights.

(Ever watched Thunderball?)

'Tis a fact of life: TV/Film crews are not that fussed about accuracy if it tells a good story.

Shame that 'Silent Witness' wasn't a particularly good story either.

I was waiting for that one!::p:

I suppose what I was trying to say is that even the hierarchy don't mind if a good story or camera angle get in the way of reality!!

I can't believe the powers that be still get caught out by this crap - but then again picture the scene in Harry's office

Knock Knock

Harry: Who's there?
Film Crew: Film Crew Harry
Harry: What do you want?
Film Crew: to make a movie
Harry: You aren't going to make me look like a cnut are you?
Film Crew: Of course not Harry
Haryy; Whats in it for me?
Film Crew; We'll give you and all the aircrew a starring role as long as you keep those dirty scruffy linies out of shot and we'll let you buy us all sh1tloads of ale in the Officers Mess Bar after filming
Harry; That sounds great come on in.

3 months later round Harry's house

Harry: Oh Fcuk
