I am sure that before they the IBM god delaminate LITS that the RAF would decide if it was worth keeping.

Its got a few years left for the Tonka for a start!!

Even when gold EPMS walks in it will still run in the background anyway. People are peeing themselves to see the back of LITS like they think it's replacement will be any better or more user friendly..... smell the bloody coffee folks :pDT_Xtremez_31:

LITS - is that the system that replaced Baemma in the Tonka world? In a previous life I was the Baemma manager in Bruggen TPF and they started talking about this all singing and dancing system that was being designed by a bunch of South Africans.

No mate, that was the one we wanted but we could only afford the one we got instead !!

LITS was designed by IBM for the south africans and their logistics in their gold mines.

We changed from LITS to WRAM. The Navy use WRAM, its based around web browser pages.
I was told during my WRAM training that it would be replacing LITS............

First off it was a diamond mine.

LITS has a lot of automation built into it and is also recognised by the CAA as a replacement for the Section 7. It won't replace LITS because it is an idiot cousin version of ! That's why the swabbies bloody use it.

If WRAM is so great, why do the Army like it so much ?

Just done 2 years with the Army at Wattisham and used WRAM extensively during this time. The system is great provided you can educate the personnel to maintian the system properly, something that the Army is struggling to do.

From what I was told WRAM is replacing LITS !!! Because the Navy and Army use it..... We are the odd one out..

A nice rumour, but LITS and WRAM are both staying. They are getting a common front end which will update the necessary sytem in the background. This way all the LITS live Aircraft will still get all the benefits of the automation while having all 3 services appear to be using the same application.

My mistake, I remembered it being a mine though! 8/10?

Personally I prefer LITS. I had all the post cats and knew what I was doing.
Unfortunately, its easy for someone to biff it up and relies on people knowing all of the menu steps.
It would appear easier to rectify biff ups on WRAM and people seem to like it better as its fairly easy to use. For instance, the menu steps arent numbered, they are called what they are! For example if you click on "create work order".........:pDT_Xtremez_28:

Back to the topic of delamination, I can see why it is being done, but IMO it has been rushed out and has a lot of problems with it. It has all the hallmarks that DII/C(S)D still has.

Just remember your password isn't under those hashes when it offers to save it for you and you should be okay ! :pDT_Xtremez_31:

LITS utilised a system developed in South Africa by the SA Air Force & Navy. It was used by a diamond mining company to run the Scheduled Maintenance programs of their mining equipment. It was then sold to the RAF to become its aircraft engineering IT System.

The latest information I have is that all rotary aircraft are to be put on WRAM but the fixed wing fleet is remaining on LITS. There are NO plans at this moment to ditch LITS in the foreseeable future.

To be honest LITS is good at doing what it does. The only downside is when you get garbage input you tend to get garbage out...

Finding and rectifying the bo11ocks inputs that some people put in can take fookin ages and the consequences are usually 1 of 2 things. Over servicing something because someone decided not to do the task on LITS, just "make it so" or grounding a jet because someone switched off or deleted a task because they could....

Oh and for the LITS geeks out there AT3711 is LITS answer to big brother (if I remember rightly).
