You look at his rap sheet and you have to agree is the Army so desparate for men that they have to keep this waster in. Then again his mate would probably say 'hes a bit of a chancer or a loveable rogue, boll0cks he got enough chances then bin him. However on the flip side where was the welfare services, the support etc.

The court heard that Trussler had convictions dating back to 1996 when he committed two offences of theft.

In 1997 he was convicted of a burglary, in 2000 of an offence of drunk and disorderly behaviour, in 2004 of making a false statement of benefits, in 2006 of obstructing an officer and in 2007 of drink driving.

Believe me, that's not that rare in the Army for a soldier to have all that in his closet.
The benefits one is a new one on me though.

When a soldier is busted for one of the above, he usually loses one rank and then gets it back within a year. The Army have a lot of naughty boys in their midst, and as Penfold rightly says, most of his peers will probably see him as a "bit of a lad".

On the ammunition side, I've known dozens of soldiers that have spare ammunition kicking around in their webbing etc, just in case any issued ammo goes walkies.
Selling it is a bit much though. :pDT_Xtremez_21:

"He didn't deliberately take the ammunition from Northern Ireland, he came into possession of it quite legitimately as a result of a training exercise," he said.

"He forgot he had it on him then tried to sell it on."

That is just a sheer class statement, obviously the bit where he turns it in to the MP's after accidentally forgetting to notice before his declaration statement must have passed him by. - "oh look I have found some ammo - best go down the pub and try and exchange them for beer chits then!! :pDT_Xtremez_42:

lets face it, the evidence supporting the calibre of this individual was there for all to see, an extensive rap sheet, and 29 years old and a private already!!!!!
