The last time the mighty England played Wales I had to buy the feckin doghnuts! :pDT_Xtremez_21:

I think Englands chances are far better this time round, However, before I start making bets, I would apreciate your views on the outcome.:pDT_Xtremez_09:

Wales have gone for quite an experimental side, leaving Hook on the bench to give Sweeny a start at 10 is a gamble, though they have picked his clubmate from last season at 9 which will help his game. Popham is also on the bench with Charvis back in the team, again I doubt that will be the team selection come the WC.

England have gone for a big pack and a steady hand at 9 which should provide Wilkinson with good quality ball, just bothers me a bit that Farrell is getting another chance to slow down the ball at 12. Hipkiss deserves the chance at 13 and England have plenty of pace in the back 3.

I think that with Wales picking the side they have England will win on Saturday.

Be fair, the last thing we need is to risk losing Hook and Popham before the world cup. ANyway, Charvis is still a very capable player and what better way to test Sweeney, he may surprise us all tomorrow.

I agree that the last thing Wales need is more injuries but Peel, Hook, Popham etc are going to have to play in at least 1 if not 2 of the warm up games. With S Jones out of all 3, Wales don't need to be going into the game against Cananda with 9, 10 and 12 having played no rugby for a couple of months.

They'll probably get a run out, but it's a good time to get teh young blood initiated, give a chance to get over the pre match nerves, who better than the 'old enemy' to warm up against. It will be a good match.

Thanks for your comments guys, I may possibly Hedge my betts and request that the winings be bacon sarnies from the cafe. :pDT_Xtremez_31:

In all fairness I like the look of the welsh team, it should be interesting to watch. :pDT_Xtremez_17:

As a patriotic Englishman, I would appreciate it if no one would tell anyone what i have just said. :pDT_Xtremez_42:

As much as it pains me to say - I think Wales will win. The current england side at the moment IMHO are an absolute joke. What is it going to take to get a decent head coach.

Martin Johnson where are you in our hour of need. Pick up your boots.

Should be a good game, would have liked it if Henson had been fit so Farrell could have had a chance to flatten the perma tanned g*t. Though being serious for a moment,:pDT_Xtremez_17: i realise that Farrells defensive nous is important and the Greenwood for years proved that out right pace at inside centre isn't the be all and end all if your distribution is good, but surely Flood or Tait at inside centre with Hipkiss (who thoroughly deserves his selection) would have been a better combination.

Well only time (about 80mins on saturday) will tell.

Farrell is there on his name. There is no way he should be in the England squad.

I just think that he should be given a chance as he is a talent. It's taken him this long to get fully fit, and he won't now have the opportunity to get match fit with his club. They obviously rate him within the management as they've made him defensive captain for tomorrow. He's got to be a better bet to last the rigours of RWC than Catt.

I agree with FOMz (sh!te, twice in a night!), Farrell is overrated and yet to do anything in Union.

Play Flood at 10 and Wilko at 12 and let's see what that does for distribution. Woodward admitted that his favoured backline would be Hodgeson at 10, Wilko at 12. Gives the two footed option for kicking and leaves plenty of option in open play. Farrell has done nothing but slow down the ball when acting as first receiver in Union.

Flood?? FLOOD??????

FFS, Ryan Lamb should be there. One of the most tenacous 10's in years, the man is a fcuking star. As for Wilko at Center??? :pDT_Xtremez_35:

Wilko is past his sell by date...............time to move along. Anthony Allen or James Simpson-Daniel should be in there.

Baws, Wilko is nowhere near his sell by date, he might not be the article that helped us to the World Cup, but compared to the pish poor showing at ten amongst the current crop protagonists, he is the safest bet. Ashton is basically trying to stop humiliation at this world cup and build for the next. If Allen shows his class over the next season and fires Glaws newly bulked up back line then give him the jersey and try and build a team around him, till then one season doesn't make him world class, and after watching leicester decimate the Glaws team, he wouldn't inspire confidence against the Bokka.

Allen?? Did you mean Lamb? Whilst I do agree that Anthony Allen should also be in the England set up.

As for writing Lamb off because of one poor performance against Leicester that is absolute b0ll0cks, Ok he had a bad game that day but the week before he tore Saracens apart with both his kicking and running game. Only a month earlier he showed the Leicester back line up for their lack of pace when Gloucester beat Leicester in the league. You say that one season does not make him a world class player, well one game doesn't make him a poor player.

Just how many seasons had JW played when he was first picked for England?
