Whose Ball was it?

Someone texted into the Chris Moyles show this morning and said that they had been to a "Ball on an RAF Station" last week where the DJ was pretty crap. Apparently, everyone was jumping up and down on the dance floor to make the CDs skip and he freaked out, told everyone not to dance so close to his mixing desk and if people made his CDs jump again he was going to pack up and go home. This sounds like a Sneck's Mess Do, can anyone shed any light on it. Did it really happen/where/how funny was it?

Saturday night was the SNCO summer ball at our place. Could have been that one.
But I'm sure there were other balls around the country on the same night.

Marhams JR Summer Ball was a week last Friday (6 July), and as Comedy Dave said '...we did that one last year...' i'm gonna take a guess at it being Marhams, although, as i was on guard, i cann't voouch for the apparent lack of quality DJing
