Good to see out Lords and Matresses have got their priorities right isn't it?

What ever happened to the casual dress of the V-Bomber days - trogg boots, sea boot socks, green round necked woolly pully and hairy working blue? And don't forget the collarless shirt with a 2BA nut and bolt for the collar stud.

When on 27 or 617 Vulcans at Scampton (long long time ago) we had a ginger haired sootie 2 banana caleld Dave (what else) who always looked a fookin treat. To work he always wore a full RAF Tache, a best blue jacket on the verge of turning green (recovered from the Tailors bin), unpolished brass buttons held on by locking wire and to complete his ensemble he sported a dark blue shirt and tie. Joe SWO's face was a fekkin picture but we were always out of range by the time he'd composed himself enough to start a bollocking.

I always thought casual wear was the dark blue shirt with sleeves rolled up!

So this range of casual wear, will it be avalible in 100% crimpoline? You can see it now, "As worn in Messes across the UK!"

Hmmmmm, next thing they'll be releasing a Flight Sim like the US Army did with Americas Army.....

Wonder if they'd factor in the old hit team to sort snags out on crew in, and random crew outs......

Funny old thing 'cos the 19 Year old Grp Capt who proudly announced this new clothing range at a briefing I recently attended also talked of an online version of a
Synthetic Composite Air Operations (COMAO) based on the online game HALO. THey will launch it from the RAF Website and encourage youngsters to play, they will then actively recruit (groom?) the better players.

Normally I might bite at such an absurd comment but I haven't got the strength!!! Simply because I've spent the last 5 minutes ****ing myself with laughter:pDT_Xtremez_31:.....not because I find you funny but with sympathy for you!!! After reading your post on another thread, about the extortionists within your t-bar charging 40p for a boost I'm assuming that after your comment I quote"So whatever you do aviod another far north 2nd line t-bar" I may be totally wrong but you may be one of the fannys that has avoided the "Big Push" to Marham & you have a fair chance of a posting to "The Mighty XV(R)". If you are deemed fortunate & worthy enough to be awarded such a posting, a quick heads up. Forget sports afternoons, early stacks on a Fri,get used to seeing 3am or later on a regular basis & I hope you have got some warm clothes (possibly some nice mittens) because it gets terribly cold out on the line at 23:00 when your ramping and the aircrew think it would be a good idea to do some rollers!!!:pDT_Xtremez_31: :pDT_Xtremez_31: :pDT_Xtremez_31: :pDT_Xtremez_31: Off Topic

PS Might also be a good idea to learn to spell correctly as seen as you will have to do your own paperwork now!!!
We also charge 40p for a boost!!!

"Enter our Competition and win a genuine "Biggles" jacket complete with Wings"

Where are the white scarfs with the wire in them though ??

If they really wanted to market "authentic RAF clothing" though here are a few suggestions :

The Authentic Waaf Skirt .. comes in three sizes for the lady with the ample rear .. Large .. Humungus .. and .. "Holy S**t", customers are advised however these are manafactured by the same people who make Hot Air Balloons so there is a substantial (!) waiting list.

The Authentic Light Blue Working Shirt .. like a normal shirt but you only iron the neck and chest and then wear with a jumper.

The Authentic Dark Blue Working Shirt .. never needs ironed and doesnt show up dirt.

The Authentic Liney Outfit .. Green coveralls covered with just about every aircraft related substance known to man, comes with one large rip(additional rips available at extra cost for that extra bit of authenticity)

The authentic RAFP Hat .. caution !!, this does have the side effect of making you hang around car parks checking tax discs and seeking employment as a barrier technician, extreme reactions have caused wearers to stand on their driveway blocking the wife's path and saying "You cant park that here", comes with optional speedgun.

The Authentic RAF Stable Belt .. for when you want to stop your mates thinking your a complete p***k, .. just wear this and prove it to them instead !!

The Airman of the 80's outfit .. Blue SD Hat and Blue Working Trousers topped off with Black Shoes and a DPM Jacket .. Those were the days.

The Aircrew Universal Uniform .. All the garments you will need for any working duty in one uniform .. A Flying Suit .. This outfit comes with optional God Complex and Sunglasses.

Just a Thought.
