Top post TW. I think ALL of us here need a reminder of what life is like on the outside and how harsh it can be. Sure, for some people, it works out really well, but there's a large chunk of people who leave because they want to cut their noses off to spite their face and end up either coming back in or bio-degrading. I sometimes get the urge to leave, but I sit back and think about what I get in return. I'm a level 3 TG17 Cpl. I sure as hell wouldn't get that kind of money on the outside for what I do. Couple that with the cost of a pension, unpaid leave, a gym, etc then you really see just how cushy we actually do have it.

Well pointed out Warwick, but I think some of those who complain about being poorly off in hourly rate comparisons are also people who signed up to get a job rather than a Career!
