Is there a subscription service for legal downloads of music?

What I have decided to do is "go legal" on the old downloading of mp3's.
Trouble is I'm buggered if I can find what I'm after!

What I'd like to do is to pay "x" amount a month for unlimited mp3s that I can put on an mp3 player (any mp3 player) or burn to cd that are legal under copyright laws etc etc.

Trouble is I keep getting the same old things on searches, ie napster's service where you "rent" the music and have to pay extra to burn off a cd of music you have already downloaded.

(If this type of service I am after doesnt exist then I suggest that a techno wizard goater on his or her way out of the mob should set one up. It would surely make a fair bit of dosh?!!)

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!!:pDT_Xtremez_28:

Its a good idea in principle but, how much are we talking here? it would be possible to download thousands of tracks at broadband speed, so the subscription would have to be huge, even if you were paying the equivalent of say 30p a track. I dont think we will ever see the service you require.

I think i-tunes and the like charge around 89p for a single, no too bad considering its about £3.99 for a single these days in the shops.

Or alternatively you could go to the dark side..... Limewires Good. Just donate a sum to the benevolent fund to offset your guilt....:pDT_Xtremez_28:

I am already on the dark side. Just fancied going legal.
The subscription service is there, eg napster, hmv and virgin all do it but you have to pay extra to "own" the music.
Its no fecking wonder that people nick it all.
I like to download loads and try em all. If I dont like it I bin it, if I like it I burn or transfer to mp3 player. If I paid for em all I'd be shelling out a fortune when actually ending up with probably less than 50% of what I bought!

There is a site that is as cheap as chips. Based, IIRC, in Russia, you can get albums for about $3! As to the legality I know not, however I think you could argue that as you've paid for it etc etc.......

Cheers cooheed.
That site seems to be a weird one. Some countries find it illegal and some dont.
Its all to do with the copyright. They dont have to pay the artist according russian law but that obviously differs in each country and that countries view of the russian laws!
I was unsure of this one. My opinion of it is if its possibly in breach of copyright laws I might as well just nick the stuff of limewire etc anyway!
Thanks anyway......:pDT_Xtremez_30:

The legal status if this site is dubious to say the least, although it is apparently legal under russian law, by all acounts it's not legal anywhere else.

Try
www.audiogalaxy.com

Used to be aw some when mp3 downloads first started.
I do believe they charge a monthly fee and you can download a limited amount of songs per month.
When it first started users had to download a satellite program to act as an interface(Non intrusive as I remember).
