As you all know next year is the 300th anniversary of the Union of the Parliaments of England & Scotland. However there is a growing independence movement North of the Border with 52% voting to break up the Union and a healthy 59% in England who want it too.
Now begs the question, if Scotland does go independent, what will happen to the UK Armed Forces? I assume, Scotland will have its seperate Armed Forces and we must remember that their parliament overwhelming (quite right too) rejected the invasion of Iraq. In a nutshell, the worse case scenario for the remaining service personnel of Britain is more detachments!!
